Offices, now row of three cottages. Early C19 with later alterations. Coursed
limestone and gritstone rubble, roughcast to end cottages, with gritstone dressings
and quoins to either end. Stone slate roofs with stone gable end and ridge stacks.
Two storeys, end cottages each two bays, central cottage single bay with single bay
outbuilding to west. Western cottage has advanced bay to east and is higher than
other two cottages. In advanced bay, 2-light flush mullion window with fixed Gothic
traceried metal lights with small casements. To west, open stone porch covering plank
door in the angle of the building, with a large fixed pane window beyond. Above,
central 3-light flush mullion window with fixed metal lights with small casements.
To east, single light flush window with Gothic traceried metal lights. Beyond, to
east, middle cottage with flush doorcase to east, covered by C20 glazed porch, and
to west large 2-light flush mullion window with Gothic traceried metal lights. Similar
single light window over. To west, outbuilding with plank door and C19 window in
blocked segmental archway. Over door, an inserted late C19 window. Eastern cottage
has flush doorcase with studded wooden door and adjoining single light window with
Gothic traceried metal lights to east. Similar 2-light window to west, and above,
two similar single light windows with extra small casements. Formerly the offices for
Alport Mining Company.
