Originally probably a row of late C18/early C19 buildings, altered later in C19
and more recently. Gable end to street, rear and end volts red brick with grey
headers. Front (or main) facade roughcast. Tiled roof, C19 banded fish scale
and plain tiles with cresting, 1½ storeys, 5 dormers. 5 windows, early C19
casements. Door with tiled hood on brackets and additional door. Very important
in street scene at entrance to Burton Green.

No 17, and its street boundary wall, form a group with Holywell Cottage opposite.
