Road bridge over railway. 1848 for Great North of England Railway. Coursed
squared sandstone in diminishing courses with ashlar dressings and parapet
of large blocks. Skew plan. Coped buttresses support wide segmental arch
with projecting stepped voussoirs; band at road-bed-level continues round
shallow end pilasters rising to rectangular piers. Long parapet has low-
