8/410 High Houghall farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse; Early C17 with alterations. Roughly-squared and coursed rubble
sandstone of large size with larger quoins; roof renewed in Welsh slate with
brick and stone chimneys. 2 builds, with hind's cottage at right.

Farmhouse of one storey and attic, 2 wide bays; cottage of one storey, one
bay. House has wood lintels over central doorway and flanking 3-light windows;
square-headed attic windows. End chimneys, that at right massive stone raised
in brick. Cottage has wood-lintelled door at left and square window at right.
Right end chimney.

Interior: right room of farmhouse has wide Tudor-arched fireplace with roll
moulding. Doors and windows removed. Empty and derelict at time of survey.
