No. 1 Engine houses,
steps and retaining
wall to left

House, flight of steps and retaining wall. Mid C19 with alterations.
House: coursed rubble, renewed pantiled roof and rebuilt brick chimney.
Wall incorporates old stone sleepers.

Narrow, 2-storey, 2-bay house. Replaced 4-pane sashes (single ground-floor
window and 2 above) with flush lintels and projecting sills. Roof has coped
gables and right end chimney. Rear has C20 wood door with 3-pane overlight;
replaced 4-pane sashes.

Short flight of stone steps, attached to left, leads to 20-metre long retaining
