An interesting late C16 timber framed and plastered house with some good C17
detail. The front has been altered in the C2O. 2 storeys and attics. 3 window
range, mostly C2O casements (1 double-hung sash with glazing bars). A wing
extends to the west at the rear with a double jettied gable at the west end
with a moulded bressumer on shaped brackets and an original chimney stack with
2 offsets and 2 octagonal shafts. The doorway has a wood doorcase with moulded
architrave and a small cornice. Roofs tiled, with a moulded wood eaves cornice,
an original chimney stack with 3 octagonal shafts on a rectangular base with
a moulded capping, and 2 gabled dormers on the east front. The interior has
some good original features including some panelling and a fine C17 overmantel.
RCHM(34) and (35). At the rear of No 19 there is a C18 timber framed and weatherboarded
outbuilding, with a central projecting gable above a horizontal sliding sash
window. The ground storey is now used as a garage. Roof tiled.

All the listed buildings from No 19 to No 41 on the west side and
No 4 to No 20 on the east side form a group with Bawn Cottage, Bawn Close.
