TL 72 NE GOSFIELD THE STREET (EAST SIDE)

House now two dwellings. C16 or earlier with later alterations and additions.
Timber framed and plastered. Red tiled roof. Central range with crosswings
right and left. Left crosswing jettied. Batten decoration to crosswing gables.
Wings at rear. Left front and right return external red brick chimney stacks.
That to left with a C19 spiral shaft on an octagonal base with a recessed stucco
sundial under. There is a recessed arch to the base of this stack pierced by
a window. 2 storeys. 2:1:1 window range to first floor. 1:1:1 range to ground
floor of vari-light leaded casements. Vertically boarded door with Tudor head
to left. Reputed to contain C16 panelling including panels carved with human
heads, moulded ceiling beams and joists and crown post roof. RCHM 10.
