1763-5. A fine red brick Georgian building with the ground floor
extensively altered by modern shop premises, but the upper storeys retain
much of their original character. 2 storeyed addition at south end.
The main block has 3 storeys, the centre front breaking forward under a
pediment. Continuous parapet running round the house and modillion
brick cornice below. The roofs are tiled. The front has a 7-window
range of double hung sashes, but the glazing bars are largely replaced
by plate glass. 2 storeyed wing at the rear has a parapet and 5-window
range on the east side, double hung sashes with glazing bars, central
arched window in upper storey, 3 hipped dormers. The south addition
has a parapet and modillioned brick cornice, 3-window range, a belvedere
in the centre of the roof.

Nos 44 to 62 (even) form a group with No 17 Sir Isaac's Walk
