Circa 1830 country house, altered c1900, converted to offices in 1948. Stucco with hipped low slate roof over hanging at eaves in centre. Two storey with three window curved bays with top balustrades at each end and plain six window range in centre. Sash windows. To rear a projecting wing with c1900 open pedimented porch and a long rear wing to right, of lesser interest. The interiors are mainly of c1900 and include an elaborate oak-panelled Jacobean style entrance hall with staircase. The fireplace is genuine C17 stone, ornate overmantel. The house belonged to the Earl of Sefton.
