Pair of cottages, 1893, for the 1st Duke of Westminster, probably by
Douglas and Fordham. Red brick with upper storey diapered in blue;
grey-green slate roof with 2 shaped chimneys at gables. An
asymmetrical Jacobethan pair, each of 1½ storeys and one window,
designed as a terminal feature at the east end of Church Lane. Large
front gable, left, with shaped ends to purlins and wallplates;
corbelled, shaped gable to half-dormer, right. Iron casements (with
leaded glazing removed) in mullioned windows of moulded brick; camber
arches between mullions. The doors are in the end walls.
