Public house. Mid C19. Stucco, slate roof. The main hipped range is set across the slope, falling to north, and returns by a curved corner to the left to Franchise Street, and to right to Rodwell Street; incorporates former No.9, Rodwell Street.

Two storeys, four windows; plain sashes to stone sills. In bay three is a broad arch over a glazed door with external shutters, and side lights with panels, under a large radial fanlight, all in a moulded architrave with keystone. The curved corner to the left has six-pane sashes at each level with a plain bay beyond, stepped down to a one-storey wall with doorway. A high painted plinth dies towards the pavement to the right. Return to Rodwell Street incorporates the former No.9, with a raking dormer,and at first-floor two bowed oriels with 4:4:4-pane sashes above deep plain sashes and a central arched opening to a four-panel door with fanlight. A rear eaves stack to front range, and a stack to the right gable of the former house unit.
