WEYMOUTH
RODWELL ROAD (east side)
No.37

14/06/74

GV
II
House at end of row. Mid C19. Rendered, slate roof. A corner building, returning to Rodwell Street at its north end, and facing The Rodwell (qv).

Parapeted range in three storeys, with a three-window north front and four windows to the west, or main street front. All four-pane sashes to stone sills; in bay two is a wide arched opening with a three-panel door plus side-lights and panels, under a fanlight with radial bars. The north front has a bowed oriel with 4:4-pane sashes and a fine modillion cornice between plain sashes at ground- and second-floor levels. Cornice band, blocking and coped parapet, one brick ridge stack.

INTERIOR: not inspected. This appears to have been built as part of a small development incorporating houses in Rodwell Street, and matches The Rodwell (qv), opposite, but with some simplification in detail.
