Lower Esholt

Gate piers in park approximately

266 yds south-east of south front

of Esholt Hall
SE 1839 15/40C

Circa 1707. Two tall ashlar corniced gate piers now standing in open grassland but
lined up with the original avenue to the south and therefore the original gate piers
of the southern main approach. Widely spaced however so that there may have been
an inner pair. The shafts have arched apertures.
