House now 2 dwellings. Late c1800 enlarged early C19. Coursed, squared
magnesian limestone, stone slate and Welsh slate roofs. H-shaped plan with
two 2-storey, 3-bay houses linked by a wing. No 58 (facing road) has central
6-panel door and fanlight with radial glazing bars and archivolt set within a
Doric-columned wooden porch with pediment. Porch cornice is continuous over
flanking 1-storey canted bay-windows having projecting stone sills to sashes
of 8, 12 and 8 panes under relieving arches. 1st floor: central sash with
glazing bars having projecting stone sill and flat arch flanked by tripartite
sashes of 4, 12 and 4 panes in matching openings. Moulded gutter; brick end
stack on right, cement-rendered end stack on left. Rear (garden front of No
60): 16-pane sash flanked by French windows with overlights under a sash with
glazing bars and two 16-pane sashes; end stacks, gable copings on left. Left
return: linking wing has a 6-panel door in fluted surround under a bracketed
cornice.
