Main elevation to Clapgate. C18 house, much altered, mainly C19 features.
Two storeys, rough rendered, slate roof. Clapgate elevation: three windows
on first floor, no glazing bars. One door, stone lintel and public house
window, segmental dripmould to window. Right-bend section taller, gabled,
two windows, band continues all four cills. Two windows on ground floor with
segmental dripmoulds and rustication. Plinth. Good stone doorway with
moulded jambs and lintel and segmental moulded pediment. In the tympanum
carved in relief is the name ROYAL OAK and a sway of oak foliage and
acorns. Bridge Street elevation is of two windows.

No 2 forms a group with No 1 Bridge Street and No Courthouse Street.
