Detached farmhouse, now two cottages. Early C17, remodelled for the Ashton
Court Estate in 1907. Rubble with a rendered and mock timber-framed first floor;
plain tiled roof; brick stacks. Single storey and attics in gabled catslide
dormers. 4 bays: 2-, 3- and 4-light casement windows with moulded mullions;
C20 French windows to left of Rose Cottage. Projecting, gabled and timber-
framed porch to Yew Tree Cottage. Single bay, 2 storey wing to right of Rose
Cottage. Interior. Yew Tree Cottage has stop-chamfered beams with scroll
stops and a large chamfered lintel to the fireplace. Rose Cottage: the living
room (the hall) has a 4-panelled framed ceiling with chamfered beams and joists,
the joists have step stops; fireplace with hollow and ovolo moulded jambs and
panelled overmantel with a fluted frieze. Formerly a three room and cross-
passage plan house.
