Back-to-back terrace of 36 houses. 1840's for Colonel Edward Akroyed probably by W H Crossland. Hammer dressed stone with ashlar dressings. Slate roof. Chamfered plinth. Tudor arched doors with ornamental strap hinges in stop-chamfered surrounds. Three light mullion and transom window with three light mullion window above, to one side, and, to the other, a small window with one above in gabled dormer shared with adjacent house. All windows double chamfered. Both elevations have eight dormers, nine stacks to ridge with plinth, tabling and vertical groove to each face.

End houses break forward under coped gable with two light mullion window and two light mullion and transom window above. End elevations have three light mullion and transom window with some above and cellar door below, Tudor arched door and Tudor arched shop window in moulded surround and additional stack to eaves. Garden walls in narrow coursed sandstone with triangular copings. Important early example of planned industrial housing.
