Turnpike milepost: early-mid C19. Cast-iron post with a cyma-moulded domed cap carries a curving iron plate. This is divided into 2 and has an inscription in raised letters reading
CHESTER 9 MILES NORTHWICH
KELSALL 1 8 1/2 MILES

An oval plaque on the post reads
