Pair of cottages now shop with flat above. Circa C17. Stone rubble, painted and
partly slate-hung in right-hand gable end. Slate and asbestos slate roof with double
gable end to front. Cross wing to rear with gabled ends. Stone rubble lateral
chimney stack on left-hand side wall with brick shaft. Projecting stone rubble
chimney stack on right-hand gable end. Plan much altered with ground floor almost
gutted. Roof timbers replaced and original plan difficult to assess. Straight joint
at junction of cross wing and right-hand projecting gabled wing.
2 storeys, asymmetrical picturesque 3-window front. Ground floor of left-hand
cottage with C19 3-light casement with fixed lights below in large rectangular
opening. Late C19 4-panel door to right. Right-hand cottage with C20 plank door
with cover moulds on left with 12-pane simple C20 shop window to right. First floor
with 4-pane sash on left-hand cottage with slate hood and small rectangular window to
to right. In right-hand cottage, 4-pane sash with slate hood. Right-hand gable end
with stable type of door and 3-light casement in gable end.
Interior altered. Much reused timber.
