Description

WEYMOUTH

SY6778SE LONGFIELD ROAD
873-1/27/206 (North side)
No.1

GV II

Detached villa. Late C18 to early C19. Stucco, slate roof. A
compact symmetrical hipped block in 2 storeys with 3 windows,
all 12-pane sashes with slender glazing bars. Central 6-panel
moulded door in arched opening with radial fanlight, plain
pilasters and small hood on cornice mould. Plain return walls,
box eaves, gable stacks. A C20 garage attached, left.
The rear also has original 12-pane sashes, and a small wing
and central lean-to extension.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
An elegant building which has not suffered external
alteration; the finely detailed sashes are of late C18 design,
but the overall form of the building suggests the early C19.
