Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Dated 1778 on porch; subdivided later
and Boatswains Cottage extended in late C20. Coursed squared
granite, slate roof, brick chimneys. Rectangular plan with rear
outshuts making double depth. Two storeys and 3 bays,
symmetrical; central doorway protected by simple pedimented porch
with monolith sides and pediment (date 1778 painted in pediment);
2 square windows at ground floor with splayed voussoirs and
pendent keystones, 3 square windows above: those in the centre
and to the left are 4-pane sashes, but those to the right
(Boatswains Cottage are now C20 2-light casements. Gable
chimneys. Small addition on left end wall, and chimney rising
from this end of rear outshut. Rear of Gweal Meneth has 4-pane
sashed window and added outshut porch; rear of Boatswains Cottage
has large late C20 extension not of special interest. Interior:
Gweal Meneth has large rectangular fireplace with massive granite
lintel, and cloam oven in left side. Boatswains Cottage is much
altered inside.
