adjoining barns

II

Farmhouse and adjoining barns. Late C17 with C19 alterations. Painted
roughcast walls, under graduated greenslate roof with brick chimney stack. 2
storeys, 3 bays with single-bay extension to left and long barn to right, all
under common roof. C17 studded oak door in plain opening within C17 gabled
stone porch with side seats. C20 diamond-paned casement windows on ground floor
and small fire window to left, all in original plain reveals. Upper-floor sash
windows with glazing bars in enlarged plain reveals. Extension has similar
windows. Barn has 3 plank doors under continuous slated porch. Roof level
raised below slit vents. Barn extends to right with large cart entrance and
further plank doorway to right. Interior of house has C17 panelled spice
cupboard. Kitchen and dairy lean-to extensions to left of farmhouse are not of
interest.
