York Buildings (terrace)

GV II

House in row, former terrace of 7. c1785 (RCHME). Rendered,
tile roof.
3 storeys, attic and basement. A flat-roofed plain dormer
replaces the original hipped and tiled version, above two
4-pane sashes and a wide C20 3-light window. Ground floor has
a symmetrical shop front with deep set-back central glazed
door under a plastic blind and deep C20 fascia. The basement
is now concealed by the later pavement. There is an eaves
cornice, and the right-hand party wall rises above the roof
slope to a coping; there is a ridge stack shared with No.54
(qv) adjoining. The original frontage has been much modified,
and would have matched No.52 (qv) to the left.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
(RCHME: Dorset, South-East: London: 1970-: 354).
