House in terrace, formerly 7. c1785 (RCHME). Rendered, tile
roof.
3 storeys, attic and basement. A hipped tile dormer with
2-light small-pane casement above two 9-pane sashes at second
floor. The first floor has a storey-height tripartite
8:12:8-pane sash with mullions and pilasters to a base and
scrolled head, all in a moulded architrave and with moulded
cornice on consoles. Ground floor has a C20 symmetrical
small-pane display front with full-width sloping fascia, with
a glazed door each side under transom lights, and on 5 steps.
The basement has 2 windows behind a decorative wrought-iron
rail. A moulded eaves cornice, and a raised and coped party
wall to the left, with a stack shared with No.53 (qv).
This frontage would originally have been similar to that of
No.52 (qv), but has been rendered, and lost its ground floor
detail.
