Two houses, originally one. Early-mid C17 but possibly with late medieval origins, probably late C17 or early c18 and C19 additions and late C19 or early C20 alterations. Rendered cob and stone rubble walls. Gable ended asbestos slate roof to main range, thatch roof to set-back section at left-hand end. Four brick stacks, two axial, one at each gable end.

Plan: three-room and through passage plan originally, lower room to the left. Hall stack backs onto the passage, probably two-storey hall bay at front of its higher end. Inner room heated by gable end stack. Set-back from the left-hand end is an addition which probably originated in the late C17 or early C18 as a small separate cottage. C19 leanto additions along rear wall. Probably in the late C19 or early C20 the division into two properties was made at the lower end of the hall and the hall bay turned into a porch.

Exterior: two storeys. Asymmetrical three-window front (six windows on ground floor). No. 1 Partwood House to left has two windows all C20 one and two-light small-paned casements. C20 plank and part-glazed door to left of centre and stable-type door at its right-hand end into former passage. Set-back from left-hand end is two-window thatched addition. Part Woods to right has two-storey gabled porch at centre with C20 part-glazed and panelled door.

Interior of Part Woods has high quality framed ceiling to hall of intersecting chamfered beams with heeled bar and hollow step stops. Fireplace has chamfered wooden lintel with straight-cut stops, rough granite jambs and oven in left-hand side. Inner room fireplace has chamfered wooden lintel with hollow step stops and rough granite jambs, cloam oven in left-hand side. Roof timbers replaced in C20.
