House

G.V. II

Inn, now public house. Late C18, early and late C19, C20.
Colourwashed, rendered red brick. Slate roof over 4 bays to the
right, pantile roof over 4 bays to the left, with a raised ridge
defining the two sections. Single gable stack, 2 ridge stacks,
and external gable stack to single storey 2 bays to right. 4
right hand bays with dentillated eaves. 2 storeys, 8 bay front
plus 2 late C19 single storey bays to right. 4 late C18 bays to
left with first floor band and carriage archway with basket arch,
raised keystone and impost blocks. Doorway to the left is
flanked by single 2 light C20 casements; the doorway with a
semi-circular head, raised keystone, imposts, blocked fanlight
and partially glazed door. 4 early C19 bays to right with
doorway with plain doorcase with modillioned entablature and
pediment, and partially glazed door. Canted C19 bay window to
the left with 3 glazing bar sashes divided by pilasters. 2 three
light casements to right with 2 similar windows in late C19 bays,
beyond to right; all with segmental heads. 3 similar windows
above with keyed oval window above doorway to the left.
