Pair of houses with shops, mid C19. Finely tooled-and-margined coursed sand-
stone with raised, chamfered, tooled-and-margined quoins. Pantiled roof with
brick stack. 3 storeys and basement, 3 bays in all. Basement has two 8-pane
shop windows, possibly original, with panelled side pilasters, supporting end
brackets, and bracketed cornices. Central steps to paired 4-panel doors with
tall overlights. Flanking 12-pane sashes on ground and first floors, shorter
9-pane sashes above. Blank window panels in centre, these and windows with
projecting cills. Under the steps are paired 4-panel shop doors. Tall right
end chimney against gable wall of Gilroy House (q.v.).
