1897, stucco, 4 storeys and basement, varied roofline. Centre and wings slightly
projecting, with tripartite windows to each floor. Central gable has triangular
pediment (with painted coat-of-arms) supported by consoles, flanked on each side
by 2 pedimented dormers connected by balustrade, and by higher segmentally pedimented
wings. Extensions in similar style, but plain roofline, along St Stephen's Road.
Rear of main block in buff brick with stucco dressings, 4-storey canted bay at
north-west corner. Included principally for excellent Art Nouvear iron verandah
raised on basement across whole facade between wings (1 bay projecting as porch):
Corinthian coloumnettes, openwork spandrels, repetitive sinuous leaf motif of
intersecting rails on balustrading to terrace and balcony. Same motif on iron
balconies of ground and 1st floor in west wing 1st floor in east wing.
