4/196 Nos 1 & 2 Hampton Cottages



Former house, now divided. C17, altered. Timber-framed, part brick and
lath-and-plaster infill, rendered sandstone base. Slate roof with tiled
outshut to rear. Straight range of 3 framed bays and outshut, one end
stack to east and second stack to right of centre, east gable entry to No 2,
entrance to No 1 to left of centre. Single storey and attic. C20 casements,
2-light window in gabled dormer above entrance. 3-light window to left and
one three-light and one 2-light window to right. Framing: irregular 2 and
3 panels from sill to wall-plate, angle bracing to top panel, 2 queen struts
to collar in gable.
