Dovecote. Mid-late C18. Coursed sandstone, brick, Westmorland slate, wood
and lead. Hexagonal plan, 2 stages. Lower stage: on each side a round-
arched opening between piers at the angles with bases and imposts. Band.
Upper stage: blind round-arched openings with sill band, and impost band
carried across the panels, the spaces above the impost band of lunette
shape, open on the north and south sides, the others blind. Moulded
cornice. Hipped roof. Wooden colonnaded cupola with lead conical roof and
weather-vane, being replaced at time of resurvey. Interior: brick lining
with nest-boxes above the arcade.
