6/29 The Bookshop (previously listed as
21.8.64 one of the cottages adjoining to
east of Marigold Cottage)

GV II
House, now house with shop on ground floor. Circa late C18. Painted stone rubble
with cement-washed scantle slate roof with gable ends. Large stone rubble chimney
stacks on gable ends with rendered brick and stone rubble shafts. 2-room plan
probably originally with cross passage positioned to left of centre. Built into side
of hill with 3 storeys to front elevation and 2 to rear. Regular 2-window front with
timber lintels to all openings. Ground floor with C19 2-light casement with glazing
bars on left and late C19 6-pane shop window on right. Plank stable door to left of
centre. First and second floor with 2 C19 2-light casements with glazing bars.
Interior not inspected.
