Cottage. Circa early C19. Rendered and painted stone rubble with slate roof with
gable ends. Brick chimney stack on front gabled end. Side lateral stack with brick
shaft to right. Brick chimney stack on rear gable end. Mermaid Cottage is a later
wing projecting to front of earlier range The Court and adjoining cottage (qv), at
rear. It has gable end to street with end entrance at lower ground level. Probably
it has been always a separate cottage and not a wing of the range behind.
3 storeys, regular single-window gabled front with C19 2-light casement with glazing
bars to right of partly boarded C20 plank door. First floor with C19 4-pane sash
above entrance and second floor with C20 window in sash opening directly above. C19
and C20 casements in side walls.
Interior not inspected.
