C16/C17, parts perhaps are earlier. 5-storey timber framed with gabled plaster
front with modern ground floor shops and splayed bays above. These have been
altered, C19 sash windows being inserted. Slate roof. In 1933, a well, thought
to be of Roman, was discovered in the basement.
All the listed buildings of Cathedral Yard and nos. 1 and 2 Deanery Place
form a group.
