Mid C19 stucco fronts on older buildings, No 48 was built circa 1708.
Gabled fronts of differing sizes with contemporary shops. Two storeys
and attics, there being two lower ground or cellar storeys, facing Ferry
Road at rear. Old grouted slate roof, gabled dormers. 2 inch bricks in
the chimneys. No 48 has a four storey, four window rear elevation with
C18 sash windows. Mid C19 shop front, panelled interior and contemporary fittings.
All the listed buildings in Fore Street form a group.
