Formerly 4 cottages and butchers shop, now 2 cottages. C17.
Squared-panel timber framing with rendered infill, on limestone
rubble plinth. Willann Cottage, left: thatched roof, with
limestone slates where thatch is cut away from dormers which have
limestone slate roofs. Brick chimney from ridge towards left,
ashlar chimney from ridge towards right with brick chimney behind.
Peddars Way Cottage, right: limestone rubble left wall with brick
chimney centre right, another from left wall near ridge. Tile
roof, formerly thatch, with 2 dormers with brick infill in gables.
Cottage left: formerly 3 cottages with butchers shop at left end.
Single storey with attic lit by 3 dormers. Left dormer has sloping
roof, others gabled. 2, 4 and 5-light metal casements most with
horizontal glazing bars, 4 doors: left door; plank stable door with
removable panel left and shuttered window right, formerly shop
front; then plank door up 3 steps, single step to plank door with
strap hinges right with depressed wood lintel over, another plank
door right. All doors unpainted. Peddars Way: 2 room plan with
cross passage. Single storey and attic with 2-gabled dormers from
eaves. 2 and 3-light C20 casements with horizontal glazing bars.
Window left of central doorway has C20 wood casements with glazing
bars. Painted, plank door right up 2 steps with triangular metal
hood over. Limited interior inspection.
Willann, spice cupboard right of fire with original butterfly
hinges. Peddars Way, C17, square panelling to dado height in
corridor.
