Farmhouse. C16, enlarged C17 and C19. Rendred over random rubble and cob, slate roofs, hipped to right, stone stacks.
Plan: "U"- shaped, 3 cell and cross passage facing North, one room addition to East (farmbuilding) with malt drying
kiln at rear, parlour addition to West. 2-storeys, 1:2:1 bays, 2- and 3-light casements, cruciform window ground floor
right and moulded mullion first floor 2nd bay left. 2-bays to left of centre break forward and there is a raking
buttress to right of entrance set to right of projection, with square headed doorway with moulded jambs and C17 door.
Interior: left of cross passage kitchen with chamfered beams, bressumer across fireplace bay and plank and muntin
partition across the projection on facade. Other half of projection occupied by blocked off area to North of fireplace
with mysterious curved corner to blocked projection on facade, purpose unclear. To right, modern grate on cross passage
fireplace, chamfered beams, very thick North Wall. 4-centred arch doorway to stair at West end and to parlour addition
with 4-panel compartment ceiling. Farmbuilding to East of kitchen has had many different uses. Attached malt drying
kiln, square in plan with square base to brick kiln whose sides rise up concave in section to floor above of perforated
tiles. The malt drying kiln is a rare survival. (VAG Reports, unpublished SRO, August 1973 and January 1983.
