Milepost. Early C19. Cast iron, by Wightman, founder. Triangular on plan; sides 305mm wide, height about 800mm; raked top, back panel; extra plaque on north angle face with reverse curve corners, reading 'Ilchester 8 1/2 miles', the name
being set on a curve; south plaque missing; founders' name cast on leading edge. This section of road maintained by the Langport, Somerton and Castle Cary Trust from 1792.
