House, now in 2 occupations. Probably mid-late C17, with mid C19 added cell
to rear. Large dressed stone faced in rough-cast to front, stone slate roof.
2 storeys. 2-cell double-depth plan. 2 gabled front. Each cell has doorway
to left of 2-light sash window in double-chamfered surround, probably originally
of 4 lights with same above. Coped gables with kneelers, blocked niches to
apices and ball finials. Return walls have 2 transverse coped gables with
brick stack to ridge of front gables.

Attached to front is C20 plaque inscribed:-

" YEW TREE HOUSE
BUILT ABOUT 1650 BY RICHARD HUNTINGTON. LATER
THE RESIDENCE OF DOROTHY WALLER DAUGHTER OF
EDMUND WALLER, THE RESTORATION WET, SHE DIED
18th JANUARY, 1717. "

The house also of Corporal Crowther executed after the Farnley Wood Plot of 1663.
Unoccupied at time of resurvey.
