chancel of Church of St Giles

GV II

Tomb chest. Early C18. Commemorates William Bridgman (d.1727). Limestone
ashlar. Classical style. Panelled sides and ends, with wide vase-profile corners
which have gadroon decoration at the base and egg-and-dart at the top; lid with
moulded edge and elegantly lettered inscription to William Bridgman "Citizen and
Salter of London".
