SU 16 SE 6/178 Home Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 and late C18-early C19. Originally timber framed, refaced in brick and raised from single storey and attic to 2 storeys in late C18-early C19. Thatched roof. Three bays, with lean-to extension contemporary with remodelling on left, and later extension on right. Through hall in right bay behind large chalkstone stack in central bay. Six-panelled door and timber casement windows. Two C17 windows, one with ovolo mouldings, the other leaded reused in extensions. Interior has bar stops to central bay, and chamfer stops to cross beam in left, parlour bay. Early fireplaces concealed by early C19 fireplace. Roof remodelled in early C19, 6 bays of C17 type.
