Railings, wall and lamp standard in
front of Bank House

GV II

Wrought-iron railings and gate. Late C18. Brick wall runs
north from east end of Bank House to terminate in square pier
with ashlar set-off and coping. On this is a C19 cast-iron
lamp standard with a stiff-leaf capital to the cylindrical
stem. Lower part of stem with spiral incised decoration.
Railings run west on a stone-capped brick wall. Rectangular
base and top rails, the former on balls, pierced by square
section verticals with spear-head finials. The stiles have
urns. Gates are hung on a pair of box-section open iron piers
consisting of square section verticals terminating in urns and
linked by scrollwork. Railings return to the Counting House.
