Pair of houses. c1850. Brick with stucco dressings; hipped
slate roof with brick stacks. Double-depth plan. Georgian
style. 2 storeys, 2 symmetrical 3-window ranges, that to right
(No.17) with extra window to both floors to right end Boxed
eaves. Each entrance has plain surround, overlight and door
with 2 tall panels. 4 canted bay windows to ground floor, each
with frieze and cornice and sashes of 8, 12, and 8 panes;
windows to 1st floor and right end have sills, and wedge
lintels over 12-pane sashes; similar windows to 2-window
returns, the left return plastered Rear has 2 wings with
hipped roofs. Part of a mid C19 development which followed the
building of the railway in 1837.
