Ivy Cottage with railings to front

GV II

Cottage. Early to mid C19, altered. White-painted pebble-dash
render (probably on cobble), slate roof. Single-depth 2-unit
plan with parallel addition to rear of left half. Georgian
style. Two low storeys, 2 windows, almost symmetrical; central
round-headed doorway with set-in Tuscan quarter columns,
moulded lintel and cavetto moulded surround to fanlight; 2
unhorned 16-pane sashed windows on each floor; through-lobby
doorway at right-hand end. Gable chimney to left and ridge
chimney to right (next to passage). Very shallow front areas
either side of doorway surrounded by tall ornamental cast-iron
railings. Forms group with Nos 16 & 18 to the left (q.v.).
