Nether Hall Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably C16 or C17 with later alterations and additions. Stone
rubble mostly roughcast, slate roof. South elevation, rebuilt C20, of 2 storeys
and 3 bays; casement windows. Large gable-end stacks. North elevation has
2-light wooden chamfered-mullioned window to 1st floor, and raking buttress to
west of north wing, which has outshuts under catslide roofs to west. East
elevation has casement windows; entrances to 1st bay and to single-storey 3rd
bay. Gable-end stack with round shaft. Interior has stop-chamfered flat joists
visible to west end. Stone stair to 1st floor, which has recess in north-west
angle. 2 collar and tie beam trusses have cambered collars and ties, struts and
short kingposts with arch braces to ridge piece; chamfered members; similar
kingpost trusses against gable walls. North wing has full cruck truss.
