Coastguard station and houses. 1892-93. Limestone rubble walls
with some stone dressings; dry slate roof with central
crosswing gable and to far right stone and brick axial stacks.
Double-depth plan terrace of 8 houses: central pair flanking a
carriage entrance with observation room over. 2 storeys;
overall slightly asymmetrical 17-window range. Original horned
sashes with glazing bars; central entrance gateway with
moulded 4-centred arch; corbelled canted oriel window over;
small flanking windows to each floor and flanking 1-window
fronts. At either side of this are 2 pairs, the left-hand pair
with pair of central doorways, the other pair with 2 small
windows between doorways. Slightly taller house with 2-window
range on the left and house on right with shallow gable
projection and pair of windows to each floor. Various C20
doors. INTERIORS not inspected. A complete and impressive
example of its type.
