Town house. c.1840; altered. Red brick in Flemish bond, with
sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth
single-fronted plan with a back extension. Three storeys over
basement, 2 bays plus a narrow link to No.9 on the left; stone
plinth, plain frieze and moulded cornice. The doorway to the
left (up 2 steps) has a doorcase of engaged Ionic columns with
entablature and cornice, plain jambs with imposts, and a
recessed board door with shallow elliptical fanlight; to the
right is a later C19 2-storey canted bay which has
segmental-headed windows at 1st floor with raised-panel
aprons, raised sills and altered glazing on both floors, and a
moulded cornice with blocking course; otherwise, one window
above the door and 2 at 2nd floor, all these with raised sills
and altered glazing. To the left is a short link to No.9,
slightly set back, which has a blocked former lobby doorway
with a cornice. Gable chimney. INTERIOR not inspected.
