Row of 3 small town houses. c.1840 in 3 builds, altered. Red
brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate
roof. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted and with a
back extension (those of Nos 10 and 11 coupled). Two storeys
over cellars, 3+2+3 windows, with vertical joints between the
three, and continuous 1st-floor sill-band, frieze and gutter
cornice. The doorways of Nos 10 and 11 are adjacent, that of
No.9 at the left end, all with one step and all elliptical
headed with gauged brick voussoirs, and each with a set-in
doorcase of engaged Tuscan columns with a cornice, and a plain
fanlight above this. In addition No.9 has a through-lobby
doorway next to the junction with No.10, with convex stone
surround and cornice, and No.11 has a similar lobby doorway to
the right, with a similar but simpler surround. The windows
have raised sills and wedge linels, and mostly altered
glazing. Rear and INTERIOR not inspected.
