A C16 timber-framed and plastered building, now a good deal altered. 2 storeys
and attics. 3 window range, casements on the 1st storey and one double-hung
sash with glazing bars. The ground storey has double-hung sashes without
glazing bars, a C18 6-panel door with a moulded wood architrave and a small
C20 shop front. The gable end on Old Foundry Road has one double hung sash
with glazing bars. Roof tiled, partly C20, with 2 flat headed dormers.

All the listed buildings in Northgate Street except Garden Wall to No 9
form a group with No 43 (Great White Horse Hotel) Tavern Street, No 2
Great Colman Street and part of Nos 2 to 12 (even), St Margaret's Plain.
