Farmhouse and cartshed with hayloft over, the latter now
converted to a separate dwelling. Probably c1800. Local grey
limestone rubble, house partly rendered and colourwashed;
asbestos slate roof, stacks with stone rubble shafts.
Plan: unusual arrangement with agricultural building attached
to house at the uphill end. L-plan house, at one time divided
into 2 dwellings. The main block fronts the road with a rear
outshut and right end stack. Crosswing to the left, the front
part of which is domestic with an axial stack. The rear part,
uphill, was an agricultural building and is now a house,
divided from the main farmhouse block by a cartway entrance. A
further agricultural range beyond (qv) is separately listed.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 1:2-window front to house, crosswing to
left. Ground floor openings have stone voussoirs. Main block
has recessed front door to left with 4-panel door with
overlight. 2 ground floor segmental-headed windows glazed with
3-light casements, 10 panes per light. Left return has first
floor 2-light casement glazed with lapped glass. Rear
elevation has one first floor 3-light casement with lapped
glass.
The crosswing has a 2-light first floor casement, 10 panes per
light and is entered on the left return with a plank front
door with lean-to C20 porch. Ground floor window left is a
2-light casement, 6 panes per light, first-floor 2-light
casement, 10 panes per light. To the left, the former
agricultural building has large double doors to the left.
Flight of external steps leads up to C20 doorway with 2-light
window alongside, 6 panes per light. The ground floor
preserves one 2-light agricultural window.
INTERIOR: not inspected but may retain features of interest.
