GV II*

House, now club. Mid C18. Brick with plaster dressings; tile
roof with brick stacks; internally central bay flanked by
timber-framed cross walls. Double-depth plan. Georgian style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic; 6-window range. Plaster plinth
and platt band over ground floor; boxed eaves. Round-headed
entrance to right of centre has doorcase with fluted
pilasters, entablature blocks and open pediment, fanlight with
radial glazing bars over 6-panel door. Windows have sills, and
rubbed brick flat arches over 12-pane sashes; attic has 3
gabled dormers and small-paned casements. Rear has 2 gabled
wings, that to right with later extension.
INTERIOR: open-well stair has cut string, column-on-vase
balusters, ramped moulded handrail and fielded panelling; rear
room to right has early to mid C18 panelling with tall panels
over dado rail, 2 arched alcoves flanking C19 marble
fireplace, one 6-fielded-panelled door with H-L hinges.
